The National Solar Science Fellow Programme provides a platform for top scientists and engineers in solar energy research. It focuses on enhancing collaboration and leveraging resources at leading institutions to drive advancements in solar technology.
The program is open to institutions ranked in the top 100 according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and those with the necessary faculty expertise and infrastructure for renewable energy research and education.
– Indian or of Indian descent with a Ph.D. in renewable energy and 10+ years of experience. – M.Tech/M.S. holders with relevant publications and lab/industry expertise may be considered. – Must submit a detailed proposal for review. – Experience in renewable energy or related fields is required. – Preference for candidates aged 35-40. – The Fellowship Committee may modify the criteria
– Annual grant of up to ₹34.4 lakh: ₹1.2 lakh/month (including tax) + research grant up to ₹15 lakh/year + ₹5 lakh contingency. – Grants provided via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the Fellow. – Research grant released to the host institution, which also submits expenditure certificates. – Additional funding can be raised from other sources like the host institution or grant providers for research.
